Olive Garden

We enjoyed good food and even better company at the Olive Garden in Wichita this evening. Grandpa and Grandma were in town for a doctor's appointment this morning, so they stuck around to take all of the (available) Wichita-area kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids out to supper. Thanks, Grandpa and Grandma! It was fun and too short, as always!

Story Time

Today was our first day of actual story time at the library this summer since Natalie was sick for the first two weeks and last week was just the firetruck tour without any stories. Natalie and Max actually sat really well for the stories which is a huge improvement over last year when I spent the story-reading part of story time chasing one-year-old Natalie around with a sleeping baby Max strapped to me. After the stories and snack, we went outside to play with bubbles. Max and his happy squeals were the center of attention!

Father's Day

We made an impromptu trip to Cracker Barrel before church this morning to celebrate the great dad that Chris is over a table full of breakfast food. We left full, happy, and thankful for all that he does.

Recovering

We have spent the last two weeks battling hand, foot, and mouth disease. Max only had a very mild version, but poor Natalie had it pretty bad. We're starting to recover from blisters, fevers, and lack of sleep, so to the blog I run because it's been far too long since I've posted a grainy cellphone picture update!

Even though Natalie was feeling better, she was still pretty spotty and too contagious to go to Grandma Beth's retirement party last weekend. Instead, she and I stayed home and had a girls' date with a picnic on the front porch followed by Sonic ice cream cones.

The turtles at the arboretum don't care that she's contagious.

This box, or "boat", was our favorite toy this week.

And trash day is always a fun day.

We're hoping to be back at it next week!
