Botanica

Chris has been going in to work at 5:00 am for a few weeks to help build the new combine and cab. They finished the combine today, so today was the last early morning. His team celebrated by taking the afternoon off, and we celebrated with a trip to Botanica in Wichita.

The gardens are all so beautiful, but our favorite was the Children's Garden. The kids were over the moon excited. Natalie's favorite part was the large metal cocoon with a butterfly inside because she just recently learned about cocoons. Max was on a mission the whole time. He speed-walked from one play structure to the next needing to explore as much as he could. Such a fun adventure. We'll definitely be back.

Hose Boss

Max is always the one in charge of the hose. He demands it be that way. Whether it's the garden hose or the hose on this little fire hydrant sprinkler, he always stakes his claim. He giggles nonstop and usually manages to spray Natalie more than a few times.

Pool Party

We all had such a fun time at our friends' bbq/pool party this evening. All the guys work at Agco, which means all the ladies are Agco wives, and all eight kids are close in age, so we all had a blast. Natalie and Max loved the water. I think we might have a couple fish on our hands.

Water Spout

"Yeah, Max, it's a spider spout."

Apparently our "Itsy Bitsy Spider" lyrics could use some work.

And here she is looking for the spider:

Speed Fishing

Natalie and Max got to fish in Grandpa John's pond over the weekend. We knew the kids wouldn't last long, and the fish must have known the same because they were biting as fast as we were tossing the line in. I think we caught seven fish in about ten minutes. Natalie and Max proved to be quite the anglers.

Tennis Camp

We went to tennis camp this morning to watch cousin Aedan play in the tournament. Max and Natalie had a blast! Chris, a former tennis camp instructor, is hoping for some future tennis players.
