Bob Hats

Bob the Builder is the only cartoon that sort of holds Max's attention. He loves that the construction workers on our road wear "Bob hats" like the one he got for his birthday.

Sunday Funday

We spent yesterday afternoon in El Dorado with my mom and sister. We found a park, did some shopping, and ate at Hog Wild. The kids had a blast and were worn out by the time we got home. Mission accomplished.

Digger Picnic

The road along the side of our house is getting redone over the next few months. Last month the big trucks were a block down which gave us something fun to look at on walks, but now they're right out our windows! We set up a picnic next to the sidewalk for our afternoon snack, and the kids loved it. The truck drivers loved it too. The kids got lots of waves and honks and even some chocolate candy bars! I have a feeling that the digger picnic will be a recurring afternoon activity.

Max is two!

Farmer Max turned two yesterday!

We celebrated with a big family party complete with lots of sugary farm treats. By the end of the party, he looked exactly like a two-year-old birthday boy should - completely filthy. He had a sticky face after eating his cookie and cupcake, and then he went outside to play and ended up with dirt stuck to the frosting. We cleaned him up and went out for Mexican for dinner where he ate his fill of cheese dip and rice. A perfect day for our little guy!

One sweet little pink cast

There she is! This is our new look for the next 6 weeks. Multiple people at the doctor's office commented on how well her cast matched the flower on her dress, and I replied that it's going to match everything in her wardrobe. Good thing they had pink. Apparently the pink is new, and they used to only have black and green. I guess if there is a good time to fall off the kitchen chair and break your arm it's when the doctor's office has pink cast material in stock.

Yes, she fell off the kitchen chair. She was standing on it after supper on Wednesday, the chair slipped, and I think the top of the chair landed on her arm. She cried, but not as much as I would have expected with a broken arm. She got a splint Wednesday night and the cast today. Wednesday night was rough because she was uncomfortable and scared, but since then she has done great. The doctors were impressed with how well she's handling the pain.

Here she is fighting back scared tears when she first got home with her splint. I cried too.

The next day was much better because she had a better understanding of what was going on and she got lots of fun deliveries.

She's on the mend now!

This is the life

It's that time of year again when we start to spend a good chunk of our days outside, and the livin' is easy.
