Summer Break Kick-Off

We started our summer break last Thursday with a trip to Manhattan to watch the Hesston baseball team play in the state tournament on the K-State baseball field. The kids made it through most of the game, but we watched the last little bit from the attached playground.

We spent Saturday at Worlds of Fun along with what seemed like everyone else in the state! The weather was perfect, and it was one of the first weekends the park has been open since Covid closures, so we had to wait in longer lines than we had anticipated. We still had a great time, though, and the kids are already planning our return trip.

We took the long way home from Worlds of Fun and spent the rest of Memorial Day weekend playing and relaxing in Yates Center. We visited Grandma and Sis before coming home today. It was a great weekend, and a great way to start our summer!

Jenga

Natalie and Mary had fun playing Jenga at Owen's graduation party this evening. They ended up with a really tall tower before it finally crashed.

Piano Recital

Natalie started taking piano lessons this year, and she has really been enjoying it. She played so well in her recital this evening. Her teacher asked each student for a picture that they thought represented their piece, so Natalie drew Irish dancers for her song "Blarney Stone Jig". Her picture was on the screen above the piano while she played.

"Sparkles"

Natalie got new sparkly nail polish today, and she immediately got to work painting Isabel's nails. Isabel was excited for "sparkles".

Emma

I'm very slowly learning the art of fixing curly hair. It recently dawned on me that I can't treat Emma's curly hair the same way I treat my straight hair. I asked around for curly hair tips and ordered some hair products that promised "defined curls". These pictures are from our first attempt at using said tips and products.

Last Soccer Game

Max's team played Benjamin's team for their last game of the season. It was a great season!
