Emma Creek 5K

We had beautiful weather for the Emma Creek this morning. Natalie placed 7th in her age group, and Emma placed 16th in hers. Isabel ran quite a bit of the race and pushed us walkers to quite the brisk pace. Fun was had by all!

Shops

Max sold puppy chow for this third grade shop this week. Students shopped yesterday, and parents got to shop this afternoon. Each third grader sold either a good or a service for one pretend dollar, and each parent had ten pretend dollars to spend. Max had 82 bags of puppy chow to sell over the two days, and he sold out! (Although a few bags were given away to friends and sisters for after school snacks.) Isabel was excited to come along and spend our money. She came home with a backpack full of snacks and prizes!

Max's Final Birthday Celebrations

Chris was in Germany for work over Max's birthday, so his celebrations were really spread out this year. We finished up last weekend with a trip to the arcade with friends and cake with cousins. Now I guess he is officially nine. 

Safety First

Today Isabel rode the motorcycle with her pool floatie for added cushion in case she fell.

Pinatas!

Emma went to a birthday party this afternoon where she got to help break open not one, but two pinatas! She had so much fun and came home with so much candy.

This cone was completely full of candy after the second pinata.

Sprinkler

When the temperature reaches the 80s, the sprinkler comes out! Abby thought the whole ordeal was hilarious. 

Max is 9!

We had a great day celebrating Max today! Max suddenly seems a lot more grown up. He is a great helper, and he is such a fun kid to talk and laugh with. He is currently really into football and reading. If he isn't playing ball in the front yard, he is reading in "his chair" in the living room. It is fun to see his interests change and develop as he grows. What an honor it is to watch him grow and to guide him along the way. 

Arboretum

Isabel wanted to go on a bike ride yesterday, and we ended up at the arboretum. Abby had so much fun walking along the path!

Park fun

The big kids had the day off of school today, and the weather was perfect, so we spent a lot of the day outside. We biked to a park on the other side of town, and the ride home lulled Abby to sleep.
