Reading with Leigh Ann and Barnes

Leigh Ann and Barnes are helping with the summer reading program at the library this year. The kids are encouraged to read to Barnes. Our kids were all too nervous to read to Barnes, but they really enjoyed listening to Leigh Ann. 

Monday Fun

Today was such a beautiful day! Cooler temperatures meant we could bike to the arboretum, take the book walk, and not arrive home covered in sweat!

Lilly's Spa Birthday Party

Lilly invited a few girls to the local nail salon to get manicures for her birthday party, and she invited Natalie to her house afterward for the all inclusive spa treatment complete with cucumbers and robes. The girls have been planning this for a long time and were giddy with excitement that today was the day. Lilly's mom sent me this picture of their at home spa.

Morning Bubbles

Natalie and Emma were still asleep, so they missed out on early morning bubbles in pajamas. 

Special Visitors

We got to see Ashley, Missy, and Grayson for the first time in over a year this morning! We had such a fun time chatting and playing that we almost didn't notice the 95 degree temperature. 

Splash Park!

Big Brother

Emma often declares that Max needs to go to "real jail" because of what he's done to make her mad, but big brothers can also be pretty great. I found them this way when we got home from the library yesterday, and they stayed on the couch enjoying their stories and each other for quite a while. 

Summer Fun

First Baseball Game

Max was really nervous for his first baseball game tonight, but he got three great hits and had a lot of fun. His teammates all played really well. They're a fun team to watch. 

Benjamin and Max get to be on the same team this season. They batted one right after the other tonight, so it was fun to see the O'Halloran boys both on base at the same time. 

This is Max's second hit of the night. 

He was really hoping to play catcher. I don't know if he actually likes the position or just the gear, but he was excited that he got to catch in the third inning.
