Just Jackets

This weather! We are soaking it up! We only needed jackets this afternoon!

Slipping and sliding

Our walk to and from school has been a little more treacherous than usual the past couple days! Instead of walking around the ice, Max prefers to slide right down the middle. He has fallen multiple times, which has only made it more fun for him.

O Christmas Tree

The kids were so excited to put up the Christmas tree right after Thanksgiving. They really got into it this year. Now Emma's newest game is unloading the ornaments from the bottom of the tree onto her arm to carry around the house.

Thankful

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Yates Center last week. We haven't been to my parents' house for a while, so the kids were really excited to go. Max told his friend at school that he was going to "the country" for Thanksgiving, which makes this country girl smile. We all had fun, but I think Emma had the best time. She spent most of her time running around giggling.

The kids even got to go to Grandma's classroom to get books from her library. Natalie started reading hers right when we got home.

We're alive!

Things have been quiet on the blog lately because we have been battling sickness for quite a while. We seem to be on the mend now, and the weather has been nice, so Captain America and his sisters headed out for some tree climbing this afternoon.

Snow!

What a beautiful snowy day! This is the best snow the kids have ever seen. The big beautiful flakes filled the sky all day long, and it was perfect packing snow. The temperature hovered right around the freezing point, so we could actually play outside for longer than a few minutes before needing to go inside to warm up.

I was feeling kind of sad for Natalie since she was at school instead of getting to play in the snow, but her teacher took her class outside to play in the snow a bit, and she even sent pictures!

Max enjoyed the snow the most. He enjoyed the snow more than I've ever seen anyone enjoy snow. He spent most of his day either outside or putting on/taking off his snow gear. He played football in the snow, made snow angels, ate the snow, took his airplane in the snow, threw snowballs at the house, sang snow songs, built a snowman, and then pulled the huge snowballs around the yard on his sled once the snowman fell down. He really had the best day.

Morning walk

We used to go on a daily walk back when Natalie and Max were littler, but for the last couple years park dates and bike rides and tree climbing have been more our speed. Today we went on a chilly walk (behind Max on his bike), and now I'm hooked again.
