Piano Lessons

Natalie is on a waiting list for piano lessons here in town. While she waits, I told her I could teach her the basics. Tonight she asked to start learning, so we went through the first few pages in a beginner music book I had ordered. I played some songs that she would recognize, and now she is really excited to keep practicing and learning.

A White Birthday and New Tricks

We woke up to snow this morning! The kids' school had a two hour late start because of the snow, so they got to play outside before heading off to school.

Chris bought a delicious caramel cake for our birthday celebration this evening.

Isabel is suddenly moving in lots of new ways! Last night she moved into the crawling position from sitting for the first time, and she kept it up all day today. She also kept trying to pull herself up on toys and crates and laps today! She didn't make it all the way to her knees, but it's so neat to watch her try to figure this all out.

Isabel has also been biting her bottom lip to feel her new teeth. I absolutely love this new face she makes. It brings me flashbacks of baby Natalie because Natalie made the same face around this age. They could be twins if you ask me!

6 Months!

Isabel is six months old today!

She is such a sweet, easy-going baby. She is almost always happy and rarely cries. She loves to snuggle and rock, and so do I! She has mastered sitting up, and now she is working on scooting and crawling. She pivots in a circle on her tummy, but she is still figuring out how to move forward. She blows the sweetest raspberries, which Natalie especially loves. She has two cute little bottom teeth, and she is having fun trying solid food. She has tried avocado, pear, and banana so far.

We are loving every minute of her babyhood, which is absolutely flying by! Happy half birthday, sweet girl!

Avocado

We had quite the entertainment at supper tonight. Isabel got to try solid food for the first time, and the big kids were ecstatic! We had tacos tonight, so we shared some avocado with her. She was very unsure at first, but later on she warmed up to it and seemed to enjoy it. Natalie was the most excited out of everyone. She has been waiting for Isabel to eat solid food for a long time. She was a big help and even cleaned Isabel up afterward.

Frozen 2

Chris took the big kids to see Frozen 2 yesterday. It was Emma's first time to go to the theater. They all had a great time and had lots of stories to tell when they got home!

Basketball Camp

Max has been excited for basketball camp to start, and today was the first day! He goes for an hour each Saturday morning for four weeks. He had a great time this morning and ran outside to practice shooting and dribbling right when we got home.

After School

We had the best afternoon today! Some days the after school exhaustion and hunger make for bad moods, but not today. Today we devoured muffins, played outside without jackets, and played dolls, hair salon, and football.

Isabel's afternoon was full of hugs. Natalie says that Isabel is "the star of the family," and I'd have to agree.

Back in the Saddle

Natalie and Max went back to school today, so things were suddenly a little quieter and slower around here.

Isabel has been sitting without having to hold herself up with her arms for a week or so now, but I think this is the first picture of her new trick on the blog!
