We played and picnicked at the Dillon Nature Center in Hutchinson this morning. The weather was perfect, and the kids had a lot of fun.

Weekend Getaway
We took a quick little summer vacation to Manhattan over Memorial Day weekend. We had a lot of fun with Mark's and Maria's families and got to spend most of the weekend with them.

Zoo Trip
We are front-loading our summer with lots of fun activities because the second half of our summer is going to be very baby focused. We took advantage of the break in the rain today with a fun trip to the zoo. The weather was perfect, and we all had a great time!

Done!
Emma had her second and final surgery on her scalp this morning at Children's Mercy. She did so well! Her doctor was pleased with how everything went, and he said there is only a 5-10% chance of a noticeable scar. She had an easier time waking up from the anesthesia this time around which was easier on mom and dad too.
Here she is snoozing on the long drive home:

Last Day of School
How did this happen?!
What a great life it is when you have two places you'd really love to be in at the same time! We are so excited for the beginning of summer break, but we are so sad to be leaving Kindergarten and Mrs. Flaming's class behind. Natalie has had such a wonderful school year, and tonight she said she already misses Mrs. Flaming. I kind of do too! She gave us the perfect start to our school journey.
We wasted no time and jumped right into summer this afternoon with a fun "pool" party at a friend's house. The kids had a blast running around in the water. Yes, there are a lot of girls in the picture, and there were even more that didn't make it in the picture. Max was the only boy out of 13 kids at the party!
We ended our day with ice cream at Braum's to officially kick off summer break. Bring on the fun!
