Last days of summer

Tomorrow is officially the last day of summer break, but we celebrated the end of summer today. Last year we went to breakfast at Mojo's, played at the nearby park, and had a movie night with pizza in the living room to end our summer, and this year we decided to continue the tradition. Cinnamon rolls and scones were the breakfasts of choice, and Robin Hood was the movie they chose. It was a fun end to a very fun summer.

Lemonade Stand

The big kids have been wanting to have a lemonade stand before going back to school, and time was running out, so today was the day. They had a great time and made quite a few sales. They even stayed open through a little rain shower.

And here the salespeople are admiring their current favorite person. Isabel definitely isn't short on attention!

Love, love, love! I am so in love with all of these. I'm so thankful that Pam so beautifully captured this phase of our family's life. Pam's blog shows all of our pictures (you can see her post here), but these are some of my favorites.

Big Brother Max

Even just a couple weeks before Isabel was born Max was still holding out hope that she might possibly turn out to be a boy. Now that she's here, he is so smitten with his littlest sister. He has affectionately nicknamed her Belle, and just look at this proud smile.

2 (and a half) weeks

Isabel had her two week check up with the pediatrician this morning because the doctor wasn't available last Friday when she actually turned two weeks old. Our doctor said she was perfect, and I'd have to agree. She fits right in to our pattern of big babies because she has already grown two inches and gained a pound. She is 22 inches long (99th percentile), and she weighs 9 pounds 14 ounces (90th percentile).

Baby Shower

Today was a day of celebration! We celebrated my grandma's birthday, Ashley's baby's upcoming arrival, and Isabel's arrival. Isabel got to meet a lot of my aunts, uncles, and cousins for the first time. Natalie stayed home with a fever, and Emma started feeling sick at the party (thus the scowls in all of the pictures), so the day wasn't quite like we had planned, but we still had a fun time. Thanks everyone for loving on Isabel!
