Emma

Can a person be both a baby and a toddler at the same time? I refuse to stop thinking of Emma as my baby, but lately she has also been acting like such a big girl. Her sweet little personality is coming out more and more everyday, and it's so fun to watch her learn and grow.

She LOVES to read. She brings me books throughout the day and then holds my hand to lead me to the rocking chair to read. Her current favorites all involve animals - "Barnyard Dance," "Noisy Farm," and "Doggies".

Her toddlerhood is also showing itself at mealtime. She once ate anything and everything, but now she is pretty picky. She does seem to eat better when I give her a spoon, so she has been getting a lot of spoon practice lately.

We have been having a lot of fun with the new words she is starting to say. She says "hello," "Dada," "uh-oh," and occasionally "thank you". She also knows what a cow, dog, and sheep say.

She is starting to like baby dolls and even requested to nap with Eleanor the other day. We've all missed Eleanor since Natalie outgrew her last summer. It feels good to have her back in the family.

Hesston College

The church at the college has a fun playground that we like to visit. On our way to play this afternoon, we stopped to check out the pretty tulips growing on the college campus.

Max is Four!

Max had a wonderful fourth birthday today! He happily went from playing with one new toy to the next new toy all day long. I've never seen a kid so genuinely excited about every present he got. He loves them all.

We have been looking forward to his fourth birthday for a while now because now that he's four he gets a full chewable vitamin instead of half, and he gets to ride in a booster seat in the car!

Calm before the storm

We played at the park in 80 degree weather this afternoon. Tomorrow it is supposed to snow!

Family Night!

Natalie and Max have been counting down the days to their preschool's family night, and today was finally the day! We had a fun potluck meal and then watched the kids and their classmates perform some of the songs they sing at preschool. Natalie's class even got to use the microphone to tell us facts about the planets they've been learning about. Max and Natalie both knew all of the actions and words to their songs and had a lot of fun up on stage!
