Emma is Four!

We had a great day celebrating Emma's fourth birthday! She spent most of the day playing with new toys, reading new books, and trying out her new roller blades. We gathered with the Hesston O'Hallorans this afternoon for a little party at one of the parks in town. Then Emma got to pick the movie for movie night, and we ended the day with ice cream cake. It was a fun day for a fun girl!

Brrrr!

We are bundled up inside with sweatshirts and slippers, but the big kids head out every once in a while to play in all the snow. Max has been the one out in it the most. He built a snow cave in our yard and helped the neighbors make snow bricks for their igloo. 

Grandpa's Hat

The big kids were all wearing hats yesterday after school, so Isabel grabbed my grandpa's Royals hat from Max's hat stash and wore it around the house excitedly saying, "Grandpa! Grandpa!" She found it again today and remembered whose it was again saying, "Grandpa! Grandpa!" We're not sure how she knew that it was Grandpa's hat, but I do know that Grandpa would have loved to see her in his hat. She has been a sweet reminder of his love these last couple days. 

Sledding

 This was before the frigid single digit temperatures we have now. It's much too cold to sled this week!

Super Bowl Party

These are the days

We soaked up this last bit of nice weather today before it gets cold again tomorrow. The little girls and I went to one park in the morning, and then we all went to a different park to play after school. 

Duck! Duck!

 Isabel was very excited to ride the duck at the park today. She kept saying, "Duck! Duck! Me! Me!"

Park Fun

Natalie and Max had the day off of school, and it was a beautiful day, so we took a long walk and ended up at Hickory Park. It was almost like a brand new park because it has been so long since we've been there. We all had such a fun afternoon that left us anxiously awaiting spring!
