Happy Halloween!

This year we had Minnie Mouse, a Purge Trooper from Star Wars, Pippi Longstocking, and a ladybug. Halloween 2020 was different just like most things in 2020 are turning out to be, but different isn't always bad because this might have been our best Halloween yet. We saw lots of family and a few friends and spent a lot of the day playing outside in the beautiful weather.

Emma was pretending to be a reader at church today as she read from her big book, "God will help you. God will keep you safe. God runs really fast." 

I guess it only makes sense that someone who is supposed to save you from danger would be a fast runner! 

First Snow Day!

I don't think we've ever had the first snow of the season this close to Natalie's birthday before! I love snow days almost as much as the kids do. I love the suspense of the pending announcement and the excitement when the announcement is made and the feeling of a bonus day made for fun. Letting the kids sleep in is also a nice perk. Max slept in the latest this morning, so that's why he isn't in the group picture!

Natalie is Eight!

We had the best day celebrating Natalie today! We all kept making comments throughout the day about how much fun we were having. 

We started out with a very cold but very fun breakfast at the park with the Hesston O'Hallorans. This might have been the first time we've gathered all together since maybe as far back as Emma's birthday in February!

Our present to Natalie was a fish tank for her bedroom, so we took a trip to Wichita for fish and tank decorations after lunch. She chose a white molly named Silver and two guppies named Tiger and Natalia. We'll see how long it takes before we have baby guppies!

We rounded out the day with Mass, chili, and chocolate cake. A fun day for a fun girl!

Here she is with her friends from school. We had a little party in the backyard yesterday after school, and it was so sweet to hear them talk and giggle. Emma even got to join them, and she was on cloud nine getting to be one of the big girls!

We stayed outside to play a little this morning after dropping the big kids off at school. Emma always takes a backpack full of treasures to school drop off and pick up.

The little girls and I made a new apple cookie recipe today, and we got rave reviews!
