Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween this year with a stormtrooper, a ladybug, and Tinkerbell. Emma quickly learned the art of trick-or-treating and had the time of her life filling her bag and sneaking bites of candy.

Max got to wear his costume to preschool this morning, and Emma got to wear hers to story time at the library. It has been a fun day!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

The kindergarten classes took a field trip to the pumpkin patch this morning, and I got to tag along.

Pigtails!

We love pigtails around here! Natalie's and Emma's hair is too short and thin to do much else, but they sure look cute in pigtails! I didn't think Emma's hair was quite long enough yet, but I gave it a try anyway, and I'm so glad I did. We may have found her new 'do.

Friend Party

Natalie invited a few friends to a birthday party at the park this afternoon. They all had a fun time playing, and I think Natalie's birthday week has finally come to a close!

Natalie is 6!

Natalie had a great sixth birthday! Chris visited her at school for lunch, and the cooks were even serving one of her favorite school lunches - "Sonic lunch" as she calls it (corn dogs and tater tots). Max, Emma, and I took cupcakes to her classroom for her class party that even involved dancing. She came home from school with multiple drawings from friends and other fun presents from her teacher and principal. She rounded out her day with her requested supper of banana pancakes and mint chocolate chip brownies for dessert. 

She has taught me so much in her six short years. I am indescribably proud of the little girl she is, and I am so grateful to get to be part of her story.

Pumpkin Patch!

I took the kids to a friend's birthday party at the pumpkin patch this afternoon. Talk about a fun birthday party!

We wore coats on our walk to school for the first time this morning. It's funny (and kind of sad) to think that we will wear them on our walks for most of the rest of the school year!

Walking Field Trip

Natalie went on her first field trip today, and I got to go along. We walked to the fire station, the library, and the post office. It was so fun to see all of the kids in her class and how they interact.
