Swimming Lessons

Natalie and Max have been wanting to take swimming lessons ever since they watched the big kids go off the diving board last summer. The rec center offers a preschool swimming class that we signed them both up for, and they have been excited for weeks.

Max admitted the other day that he was a little worried about going off the diving board. He felt much better once I told him that the diving board isn't part of preschool swimming lessons.

As we walked to the pool this morning for the first day of lessons, Natalie said, "Max, you can swim by me so you don't get scared."

They were so fun to watch. Max was a little nervous, but he kept up with the older kids and gave everything a try. He is hoping that tomorrow they get to play basketball in the pool. He thinks that sounds a lot better than sticking his face in the water like his teachers are trying to get him to do!
