Friday Fun

We took advantage of the beautiful weather with a trip to the zoo on Friday. Everyone was doing so well that after the zoo we turned it into a full day of Wichita fun. We did some Target shopping, played at a splash park, and stopped for ice cream on the way home.

We have been eating a lot of picnic lunches this summer, and the zoo has lots of fun picnic areas.

Playing on this statue might have been the highlight of the trip.

Five Months

Emma is five months old today!

She seems to have really grown up over the last month. She supports herself well enough that I can carry her around on my hip, which we both love because she's my little sidekick. She does make getting things done a little harder now though because she tries to grab anything in my hand.

She moves around and plays on the floor really well until she gets mad about not being able to crawl. She pushes her tummy off the floor, and she gets on her knees or pushes her bottom up, but she hasn't put it all together yet.

She weighs about 16 pounds and still laughs the best for Natalie and Max. I'm starting to wonder if she is going to have some curl in her hair because this July humidity makes her hair crazy. It sticks up and out and every which way once she gets hot.

She really loves to sit with the big kids when they're playing on the floor. She still needs her arms to help her balance, but she's getting better at it every day.

We sure do love this sweet girl!

Bunk Beds

Natalie and Max got bunk beds last week! They have been so excited about the prospect of bunk beds for a long time. So far they sleep well in them, and no one has fallen off the top!

Since all three kids will share this bedroom someday, the plan has always been to get bunk beds at some point. We told them that they could pick out a set if they could consistently show us that they can sleep like big kids. We made a sticker chart, and they got a sticker for every good night of sleep (going to sleep easily and staying asleep). They slept well, filled up their chart, and here we are - brand new bunk beds!
